Honor The Game
Spring is the heart of Equinox Lacrosse. This is our community-based program, and built for athletes who want to learn and improve—while still giving players the chance to experience strong competition that accelerates development. We coach the individual, build confident teammates, and teach every player what it means to Honor the Game.
Brand new players looking for a great introduction to lacrosse
Returning athletes who want more structure, coaching, and reps
Multi-sport kids who want a competitive outlet that still feels fun and local for their spring season
Families looking for a positive program that supports players as athletes and people
Spring is built around skill growth and confidence. Players will work on:
Stick skills (both hands, on the move, under pressure)
Ground balls and contested play
Dodging, footwork, and balance
Shooting mechanics and finishing
Team concepts: spacing, movement, decision-making, and defensive habits
This is not a win-at-all-costs environment. It’s a structured, coached, and supportive program where:
Players improve at their own pace
Coaches teach and develop—not just run lines
Athletes are encouraged, challenged, and included
The experience stays fun, positive, and growth-centered
We believe great development requires challenges. Our spring schedule includes local match ups and competitive play designed to push players in the right way—helping them learn to execute under pressure and elevate their game.
Weekly Practices
High-rep skill work
Small-sided games to increase touches and decision-making
Age-appropriate teaching and progression
Games
Local spring matchups against regional opponents. Games are played throughout our local area and the Capital District of New York, with travel typically limited to one to one and a half hours. With limited competition in southern Vermont, Equinox Lacrosse travels to nearby New York communities to ensure strong, competitive matchups.
At Equinox Lacrosse, players are never just a jersey number. We coach them as individuals—supporting their growth on the field while caring about who they are off it. Our goal is to help kids build confidence, character, and love for the sport in a program families trust.
We play hard, we compete the right way, and we represent our community with pride. Players are expected to:
Bring effort and focus
Be a great teammate
Respect coaches, officials, opponents, and the game
Live our motto: Honor the Game
Season starts Monday, March 16th.
